Discover the Premier League Companion: A Game-Changer for Soccer Fans
Ready for the 2025/2026 season? Here’s what you need to know!
Soccer enthusiasts rejoice! The Premier League, known as the most famous soccer league worldwide (yes, for our American audience, I’m sticking with “soccer”), has rolled out an exciting new AI companion within its mobile app for both iOS and Android.
This innovative tool is part of a five-year partnership with Microsoft, aimed at transforming the way over 1.8 billion fans across 189 nations connect with the most-watched football league on the planet.
Premier League’s CEO, Richard Masters, shared his enthusiasm: “We’re thrilled to have Microsoft join us as a partner. Their technology will help us engage our fans like never before, offering everything from personalized content to real-time match insights.”
Limited Features, But It's Just the Start
The Premier League app has undergone a significant makeover, and you can grab the new update for free right now.
Once you boot up the revamped app, you can dive into the Premier League Companion. Think of it as Microsoft Copilot's younger sibling—an AI chatbot that’s tailored specifically for soccer content.
However, there’s a catch: your interactions are currently quite restricted. You’re presented with just three prompts at a time, limiting your input without the chance to write your own queries.
Exciting Features Coming Soon
If you're updating the Premier League app today, you might as well give the Companion a whirl. After all, it’s free and could uncover stats you didn’t even know you needed!
While I haven’t used the app extensively, I’m curious whether Copilot will soon tailor its suggestions based on your previous interactions. If that happens, the Premier League Companion might become a whole lot more useful as the season approaches.
Designed to help fans sift through over 30 seasons of stats, 300,000 articles, and 9,000 videos, this tool promises to deliver personalized insights and unique content. However, from my experience so far, I’ve yet to see any video highlights or personalized insights roll out.
In the recent press release announcing the collaboration with Microsoft, it was revealed that AI integration will extend to Fantasy Premier League—a favorite among sports enthusiasts.
Fantasy Premier League participants will have access to a personal assistant manager to help guide their fantasy team to victory. As someone who came heartbreakingly close to winning my league last season due to poor decisions on the final day, I can’t wait for the assist from an AI statistician!
